Five friends explore their relationship with the Albanian language within the diaspora in Switzerland. They wander through places of remembrance where identity is forged, and give voice to Albanian culture in places where it is suppressed. Gjuha e diasporës straddles the line between documentary and experiment, serving as an investigation into what happens to the Albanian language as a result of oppression and migration.
Diell Curri, born in 2002 in Lucerne, Switzerland, to Kosovo-Albanian parents, is currently doing a Bachelor’s degree in Video at Hochschule Design Film Kunst. In his latest film, „Gjuha e Diasporës“, Curri explores the Albanian language and identity within the Albanian diaspora in Switzerland.

3 Generations tells the story of Zadife, a woman whose unwavering faith sustains her through diaspora, war, loss and resilience. Structured in four chapters, the film follows her spiritual journey, her family’s escape from Kosovo during the 1999 war, memories of a childhood shaped by a deeply religious father, and her life as a widow raising five children. Through family archives and Albanian traditions, the film celebrates faith, perseverance and community strength in the face of adversity.

Ermal Gërdovci, born on the 25th of June 1995, is a film director and producer from Prishtinë, Kosova. He started his film career as a child actor, and during his teenage years, he took on small roles in production to learn more about filmmaking. This experience helped him learn many aspects of film production.
In 2018, Ermal co-founded Kandërr, a film house based in Prishtinë, where he has directed and produced several acclaimed and award-winning short films. His films have been presented at major film festivals including the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, Film Festival Cottbus, Reykjavik International Film Festival, DokuFest, London Short Film Festival, and many others.

Hana, a talented teenager, is just days away from graduating from high school. Her father, Sherif, has a different plan for her future and insists that she pursue academic studies instead. Valmira Hyseni is a producer, director, and screenwriter based in Prishtina, Kosovo. She holds degrees in Film Directing and Law from the University of Prishtina.
Valmira is the co-founder and CEO of Plan Bee Films, an emerging production company dedicated to developing bold and internationally oriented film projects. She also serves as a board member of the Producers’ Association of Kosovo.
With more than 15 years of experience in the film industry, she has produced numerous short films, feature films, and documentaries that have collectively screened at hundreds of international festivals, including Toronto International Film Festival, San Sebastián International Film Festival, Cairo International Film Festival, Torino Film Festival, Busan International Short Film Festival, and many others.
She is currently producing the feature film I Must Go Down by the Sea Again directed by Leart Rama, and overseeing the post-production of In a Manner of Speaking directed by Val Jashari. As a director and producer, she recently completed the short film Keep Going, which is currently on its festival circuit. She is also writing her debut feature film, To the Days We Have Left, supported by the Kosovo Cinematography Center for Script Development.
In addition, Valmira is producing Incognito, the second feature film by Zgjim Terziqi, and co-producing several international feature film projects.
